Who are we?
St. Helen's Health Care is the operations name for the private medical support organisation set up by Suffolk Health Care Ltd. It's an agency through which the general public can easily gain access to high quality non-NHS care from local clinicians of high standing.
What do we do?
We offer choice in local quality health care from local professionals you can rely on, at an affordable price. Our clinicians provide services directly to patients on a self employed basis. They all work for some of their time in the local NHS. They are registered and indemnified with their relevant professional organisations.
Suffolk Health Care Ltd.
Suffolk Health Care Ltd. was set up by a large group of Suffolk specialists and GPs, to provide local people with access to a developing portfolio of services enhancing choice and accessibility for local patients. Over time we intend to develop a wide range of services at convenient times and locations to suit patients. St Helens Health Care is the private services division of Suffolk Health Care.
St. Helens Health Care Complements NHS Services
Working in the NHS we know what an excellent service it provides. However, due to a limit on NHS financing, only priority services can be supported with some clinical services falling outside of these funding priorities. We fill those gaps.
Two examples might be the screening programme for cervical cancer and the Human Papilloma virus vaccination - there are others.
For cervical cancer the NHS screen routinely 3 yearly between 25 Ð 49yrs and 5 yearly between 50 and 64yrs. We offer an easy and convenient way for women who would like to have this test more frequently.
The Human Papilloma virus vaccination prevents 70% of cervical cancer by protecting against the virus causing it. In Suffolk, it is offered to all 12 and 13 year old girls in school year 8 and also those aged 18 and 19. We can offer an alternative vaccination to women and teenagers outside these age groups, that also offers wider protection.
